Governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle of Zamfara State has reinstated the Emir of Birnin Yandoto who gave a chieftaincy title to a bandit leader, Ado Aleru. In July 2022, SaharaReporters reported that the state government suspended the Emir of Sabon Birnin Yandoto in the Tsafe local government area of the state, Aliyu Garba Marafa, for making the notorious bandit the Sarkin Fulani (leader of Fulani).
