PSE sees relaxed rules enticing startups to go public

The Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) is banking on relaxed rules to entice high-growth and startup companies to go public amid the coronavirus pandemic.
The local bourse operator recently amended its listing rules, relaxing profitability and operating history requirements, as well as including a temporary relief clause in applications due to the pandemic.
The new rules also feature a sponsor model for companies intending to list on the small, medium, and emerging (SME) board.
Under the sponsor model, a company will be evaluated in the first instance by a listing sponsor accredited by the PSE.

Robbie Antonio quits Century Properties amid unicorn issues

Century Properties told the local bourse its board has accepted Antonio s resignation, which is effective immediately. The Board noted that the reason for his resignation is to allow him to focus on addressing the pressing issues in his own company and its allied businesses, the firm said.
Antonio is the son of Century Properties founder and chair Jose EB Antonio.
In 2017, Antonio s Revolution Precrafted, which makes prefabricated homes, reached unicorn status with a valuation of over $1 billion.
Last Thursday, February 18, ABS-CBN reported that the NBI is investigating Antonio for allegedly duping businessmen.
