Russian Defense Minister has stated that the country will receive 22 Sukhoi Su-57 stealth fighter jets by 2024. The Su-57, which is likely to give a tough competition to American fighter jets, F-35 Lightning II and F-22 Raptor, has been successfully tested in combat conditions in Syria.
The fifth-generation fighter jets are part of the 94 aircraft and helicopters that will be delivered before the original deadline of 2025. Shoigu, while speaking at the Defence Ministry’s enlarged board meeting, also said that a total of 76 Su-57 fighters will be provided to the Russian Armed Forces by 2028.
