Many local health departments say more people seem to be losing or have damaged covid vaccine cards and they're noticing an increase in requests for replacements.
The Stark County Health Department will begin vaccinating the new age group as soon as the Ohio Department of Health gives the go-ahead. That s expected to be any day now, said Kay Conley, director of administration and support services at the county agency.
Stark County has vaccinated a number of 16 and 17 year olds at recent clinics, including those this week set at outlying schools in the county, she said. We’ve had a number of calls from parents asking when they can schedule their child for their vaccination, Conley said.

Right now, only the Pfizer vaccine is approved for people under 18.
Stark Co. ND (NewsDakota.com) – A Richardton N.D. woman was killed in at two vehicle crash Tuesday night (March 16th) in Stark Co. The North Dakota State Patrol says the accident occurred on I-94 around 8:35 pm mountain time.
According to a news release from the Highway Patrol, both vehicles were eastbound on I-94 near milepost 80. While the vehicles were passing each other, they collided and spun out, entering the south ditch.
A 2006 Subaru Forester rolled, the driver of that vehicle was killed due to injuries sustained in the crash. The other vehicle, a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo, exited the south ditch, crossed both lanes of travel and came to a stop facing west in the north ditch. The crash report did state that road conditions were wet with scattered slippery spots at the time.
