School board community meeting focuses on future of two Lehigh schools

The future of Veterans Park Academy for the Arts and the soon to be former campus of Lehigh Acres Middle School. were the topics discussed at a community meeting called by the School District of Lee County last Tuesday.
The meeting held inside the Star Café at Veterans Park Academy for the Arts focused on the repurpose and future use of the soon to be vacated Lehigh Acres Middle School campus on Arthur Avenue. Its current students will make the move to the new LAMS campus on Sunrise Boulevard once it opens in August of 2021.

GRAND HAVEN, Mich. â The 25-year legacy of Morning Star Café is so strong that people are still walking in to enjoy sit-down dining, unaware the restaurant is only serving takeout due to pandemic restrictions.
âI mean, everything s changed,â says front of house manager Abby Ashcraft, who herself is a Morning Star veteran of nine years.
âWe have we have patrons who dine with us on a daily basis when we re open. And we haven t seen quite a few of them in a while. So it s a big difference.â
It is with profound sorrow we announce the passing of our mother and grandmother (Baba) Mary Hryb, aged 93, at Pioneer Ridge, December 23, 2020. Mary (Marika) was born October 20, 1927 in, Bohorodchany, Ivano-Frankiysk Oblast, Ukraine, the daughter of Myhalo and Eustena Romanyshak.
Growing up near the Carpathian Mountains, Mary and her young sister Paraskovia learned to prepare traditional Ukrainian dishes and embroider intricate tapestries. Her exquisite art pieces adorn her home for everyone to admire. In her eighties, Mary delighted her family with drawing captivating Ukrainian scenes in vivid colours, attesting to an innate artistic talent.
In 1940 when Mary was 12 years old, her father died leaving her mother to take care of them and the family home. Earlier that same year, older brothers Myhola and Dmytro were conscripted into the military leaving their mother and siblings to manage on their own.
