When someone bolts out the door that fast, its not because their pizza is burning in an oven somewhere. Its, you know, they are stealing something. Reporter he gets out the door. Lights to be much brighter than they should be. Reporter ironically, the bridge deck lights are designed to shine from behind the driver, but when you reach the tunnel, you get a full blast of light in the face. The old florescent bulbs have been replaced by l. E. D. Lights, and right now, theyre on full daytime settings all day. The 460 new l. E. D. Lights make the passage brighter and cleaner, but many drivers say at night, its blinding. Its very bright. It blinds me sometimes. The tunnel lights are very, very bright. Its very hard to see. The light was bright. It was irritating my eyes. Were still working on the control system to make the necessary adjustments. Reporter illumination is measured in what is called a foot canal. Right now, the light approaching the tunnel is about 3foot candles. But when they enter the tunnel, the measurement jumps to 20.
