Daly Bread: Tied up in Tobago; PNM and PDP should try one more time with 12 seats
On the date corresponding to today in last year’s Carnival calendar, I was tied up in Tobago with pan business, enjoying the morning after our attendance at the medium band 2020 Panorama finals which was held in Tobago.
Now all of Tobago is tied up. There is the deadlock in its House of Assembly following a six-six tie in the Tobago House of Assembly (THA) elections between the People’s National Movement (PNM) and the Progressive Democratic Patriots (PDP).

Economist Dr Vanus James has responded to a taunt by the PNM over his style of dress.
At Black Rock Hard Courts on Sunday, PNM Tobago Council chairman Stanford Callender told supporters: “You must stand out among your peers. So when I see (PDP deputy leader) Farley (Augustine), who like to dress up nice, standing next to Vanus who looks like a vagrant, I said, Shame on you, Farley. My grandmother always said to me, if you show me your friends, I would tell you who you are.”

A YEAR after winning the support of almost a quarter of PNM members to lead the Tobago Council, Dr Denise Tsoiafatt-Angus, a former councillor in the Tobago House of Assembly (THA), on Thursday found herself expelled from the party.
Last January, in the first round of voting she took 904 votes of almost 5,000 votes cast, while in the second round she and candidate Joel Jack (on 1,066 votes) gave crucial support to help Tracy Davidson-Celestine unseat former head Kelvin Charles by overturning an initial 1,513/1,447 vote in Charles favour to a final 3,150/2,042 win for Davidson-Celestine.
