So it s Congress weekend
It s that time of year again when GAA delegates meet to discuss and vote on proposed changes to the rule book. What makes Congress 2021 unique is that it will be the first time the meeting will be held virtually, given Covid-19 restrictions.

Given what transpired with Covid-19 and the change in championship structures, some of the motions passed never came to light, such as The Tailteann Cup, Dublin playing two matches outside of Croke Park if they reached the Super 8s and no relegation in the Leinster SHC round-robin.

The GAA annual congress takes place via video conferencing on Saturday, February 27 due to Covid-19 restrictions.
A total of 48 motions have been drafted, but 10 of those motions will be deferred until a Special Congress.
Motion 1: This motion has been deferred to a Special Congress to be held later this year. It seeks to clarify the role of the Development Officer in counties. It will do this by replacing the title of ‘County Development Officer’ with ‘County Planning and Training Officer’, and also creates the new role of County Safety and Facilities Officer .
