East Carolina Universityâs Renaming Standards Writing group met on March 31 from 10 to 11 a.m. to discuss numerous edits to the standards and policies drafted document as well as approve a final copy for Chancellor Philip Rogers and the ECU Board of Trustees (BOT).
Christopher Locklear, chair of the Renaming Standards Writing Group, moderated and facilitated the meeting. He said the goal of the meeting was to discuss any further edits to the document which proposes the university rename activities and facilities on-campus due to the controversial past individuals buildings on-campus were named after. Locklear said there has been survey feedback from the ECU community and the group has had adequate time to review the document from the previous meeting held on March 22.
