Maintaining an effective cyber tourity posture is important remain vigilant. Too often when we hear about the importance of Cyber Security we are left without concrete steps to take to ensure our positions position against emerging threats. One of the goals today is to learn about tangible measures the government can take to its i. T. Systems to defend against new and emerging threats including novel and sophisticated rent somewhere threats. The specific focus will be the wannacry ran somewhere attack. It was last month in a worldwide attack that impacted nearly every country in the world. Although the concept of ransom ware is not new, the type of rent somewhere employed by wannacry was novel. It made people pay to get access to documents. It signaled a new type of wo rming. It would spread more rapidly with each new infection. In light of the method of attack, Cyber Security experts including those we will hear from today have expressed concerns that the virus is only a preview of a
1975, when they were considering these efficiency standards they were supposed to consider that the technology was really feasible and that there was an economic justification for it. But today thats beginning to be blurred and we know, certainly, at epa when they consider it, they certainly dont consider whether its technologically feasible or economically justified. So if we wanted to have a more balanced approach what were trying to do is hear from people who are involved in this on a daily basis because the American Public when they go to the Appliance Store to buy an appliance, they dont understand all about this efficiency. They just know what the price is, and then some people are telling them well you are going to save money even though its a lot more, because of the electricity that will go down. And other people make the other argument. So one of our objectives today is to just try to get a better understanding of what is the reality of this. And thats why were here. So i wan
Terrorists came from the Turkish Borders, all the terrorists inside syria. End of quote. But the examples we just heard, zadan al loush, who was killed inside syria, covered extensively by governmentowned media, he was described as a big terrorist leader by your own media. He was inside a syrian prison and he was let go in 2011 by the Syrian Government. Did you not know about his past . And why was he in prison, then released, based on that . Dr. Shaaban i really dont know. You know, if you are insinuating that we could possibly know that somebody is going to turn such a terrorist and we let him out of prison. He was taken to court and then he was released just as any prisoner would be released after he spends the time that he had to spend in prison. But i meant all the terrorists who came from out of syria
