My food was never delivered are five words no restaurant owner wants to hear, especially when your business is takeout only and doesn t have a delivery service.
That s what happened to Hugo Castellanos, owner of Mad Pork in North Hampton. A customer ordered from his restaurant through Grubhub, a service Castellanos has chosen not to partner with. Their order showed up hours late. He said he felt taken advantage of, after seeing the food delivery giant advertising his business on the platform without his knowledge. They added us to their website without my consent and, if they had asked, we would have said no, Castellanos said. The advertisement it said could take upwards of 60 minutes to deliver. That s not OK. Everything I sell is fresh, made to order, so that kind of delay is not acceptable and reduces the quality of my service.
