Delhi HC orders Lava to pay Ericsson for infringing 2G, 3G patents, ET Telecom

Justice Amit Bansal said Lava will pay Rs 244.07 crore towards damages, along with interest @ 5% per annum from the date of the judgment till the realization of the said amount. However, it allowed the Lava’s counter claim to the limited extent of revocation of the suit patent ‘Linear Predictive Analysis by Synthesis Encoding Method and Encoder.’

Delhi HC orders domestic smartphone maker Lava to pay Rs 244 crore to Ericsson for patent infringement

In a ruling Thursday, tue court held that seven out of the eight Standard Essential Patents (SEPs) over which Ericsson had claimed ownership were valid. Justice Amit Bansal said Lava will pay Rs 244.07 crore towards damages, along with interest @ 5% per annum from the date of the judgment till the realization of the said amount. However, it allowed the Lavas counter claim to the limited extent of revocation of the suit patent ‘Linear Predictive Analysis by Synthesis Encoding Method and Encoder.
