A bridge along Maury County s Polk Lane will soon jointly honor the legacy of the late former Maury County state representative and his wife, a longtime public servant for the community, who left an impact on the county after decades of stewardship.
The Maury County Commission unanimously passed on Monday a resolution, honoring the two Maury County natives by renaming the bridge along a rural road near Mt. Pleasant the Representative J. B. Napier and Shirley Napier Memorial Bridge.
The country bridge, which is currently undergoing repairs, over Isbell Branch, is located near the Napier family farm, which has been in possession of the family for multiple generations.
