different this time was the star witness. the jury was going to hear from charles boney himself. a huge risk for prosecutor levco. so you gotta wonder how good this witness boney is gonna be for you, right? yes. certainly his credibility was gonna be in question. why put him on the stand then? i felt like i didn t have a choice. if i didn t put him on the stand i suspect they would have but also i thought the jury oughtta hear it. reporter: this is the story yoany told in court. he said he met david camm in july 2000 playing basketball in a local park. we talked to boney in prison. reporter: it was just a pickup game of basketball and i didn t know him or, really, anyone there. i just i m fresh out of prison, you know, the scene is different. reporter: after the game he said camm was bragging, talking smack about how easily he d beaten boney. and at that point, i just said, well, you know, i may have lost the game, but at least i have my freedom. and he s like, f
