Donation from Ocala s Stan and Martha Hanson helps improve child center s playground

Staff and supporters of the Thelma Griffith Early Head Start Center in northeast Ocala gathered Thursday to dedicate the facility s recently renovated outdoor playground, located adjacent to the center.
The playground was upgraded and a rubber safety floor surface added earlier this year thanks to the generosity of local philanthropists Stan and Martha Hanson, who donated $50,000 for the renovations in memory of their late son Adam on behalf of the Adam Hanson Better Communities Foundation.
A plaque in a doorway leading to the playground reads: This playground dedicated by a loving gift in memory of Adam Hanson 2020.
