Residents on this Altrincham road want a 20mph zone - here s why RESIDENTS living on and around Welman Way, Altrincham, have launched a petition calling on Trafford Council to set up a 20mph zone for safer streets on the road and surrounding streets. They want this to be extended to include all those roads leading off Welman Way and the stretch of Moss Lane adjacent to the whole boundary of Stamford Park from Mayor’s Road to Queen’s Road. A spokesman for the group said: “This means installing signs telling vehicles to slow down, especially where children are likely to be walking or crossing.
