A man suffered a significant injury after being stabbed in a subway.
The victim - who is in his 20s - was walking in the underpass near Sainsbury s in Enderley Street, Newcastle, when he was approached by someone he claimed he did not know.

Police are hunting a balaclava-clad knifeman after a street brawl ended in a stabbing.
Officers were called to three men fighting in Comet Avenue, Cross Heath, at around 1.40pm yesterday (May 3).
Witnesses reported seeing one of the men with a kitchen knife.
