FlixBus Resumes Four Times Per Week Connection From Prague to Venice

Czech Rep., Jul 7 (BD) – The famed Italian city of Venice is unparalleled in the world. The city’s unmistakable charm comes from a combination of old palaces, basilicas, churches, bridges, canals, tiny alleys, and bright squares. From Thursday, FlixBus will resume its connection to this former commercial and maritime metropolis in Italy, operating four times a week, with tickets starting from CZK 749. All those interested in visiting the historic city, used as the backdrop for many classic films, can use the direct connection from Prague-Venice. The green bus will run every week from Thursday to Sunday, starting on Thursday, July 8th.

Czech Rep., June 28 (BD) – Adam Vojtech, the former and current Health Minister, announced a change to the administration of second doses of the Pfizer vaccine on his Twitter account today. “This means that if you have a date for the second dose which does not suit you, you can call 1221, where they will help you change it within a limit of 8 days,” he said. “We are looking for ways to make vaccination as accessible as possible.”

Czech Rep., Mar 30 (BD) – The population of the Czech Republic increased by 7,800 in 2020, reaching 10.702 million. The growth was considerably lower than in previous years, and the whole increase was due to net immigration.  The low population growth last year was due to a year-on-year decrease in net migration of nearly 40%, and an even more significant decrease in the natural population of 19,000 (compared to 100 in 2019).

Average Wage and Unemployment Increase in Third Quarter of 2020

Czech Rep., Dec 10 (BD) – The average wage in the Czech Republic rose by 5.1% year-on-year in nominal terms and 1.7% in real terms (adjusted for inflation). The median wage was CZK 31,183. 80% of employees were earning between CZK 16,612 and CZK 55,089 per month. However, the number of unemployed is also growing. The Czech Labor Office reported that more than 270,000 people were out of work. The figures that best describe the course of this year’s crisis are of hours worked. There were significantly bigger declines in hours worked among the self-employed. The average number of hours worked fell the most in April (by 31%, year-on-year). The situation began to stabilize from May.
