Escambia County Play, Learn, Grow Summer Camps registration opens

From Staff Reports Escambia County is offering three Play, Learn, Grow Summer Camps this year for local youth, providing recreation, educational activities and more in a fun, structured environment. Proof of child s age and Escambia County school enrollment are required. Acceptable verification documents include a report card or progress report from the current school year. Brownsville Community Center  Program dates: June 7- July 30, Mondays-Fridays from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Cost: $35 registration fee per family for each session. Registration includes lunch and an afternoon snack. Ages: 5-12 Location: Brownsville Community Center, 3200 W. De Soto St.  Registration: Now through June 7, Mondays - Fridays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Brownsville Community Center. Registration is required.

Adventure Aquarium launches audio tour to encourage conservation From Staff Reports CAMDEN - This Earth Day, Adventure Aquarium will launch the Action for Animals Audio Tour for guests to learn more about their favorite animals, the challenges these species face in the wild and simple conservation practices.   This self-guided, 17-stop tour is offered free to guests, and is accessible by scanning QR codes with a smartphone. It is narrated by aquarium team members and includes stories about the animals, environmental concerns and how the aquarium is taking action to protect animals and their environments. To make it easy for guests to join the effort, each tour stop includes a conservation tip along with a suggested conservation partner for further exploration. 

Lake-specific sunfish regulations begin in Stearns, Wright county

The new limit is a daily bag limit, meaning fishers can keep 10 fish a day and return the next day for another 10 as long as they don t surpass the statewide possession limit, according to the DNR. The DNR held a public comment period for the proposed change and received more than 3,700 comments. Support varied by lake, but overall, more than 85% of respondents supported the Quality Sunfish Initiative, the DNR said.
