Japanese Ambassador-designate Koshikawa Kazuhiko, who graced the formal turnover ceremony of the UV-C handy irradiation sanitizers on Monday, Feb. 8, described the UEC’s donation as “a good example of private sector engagement that our society is in great need of.”
It was DOH Undersecretary and Chief of Staff Leopoldo J. Vega who received the donated devices in a simple ceremony held at the Grand Ballroom of Okada Manila.
Kazuhiko cited the enduring diplomatic ties between the Philippines and Japan during this time of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic crisis.
“We are living in uncertain times. The crisis unleashed by COVID-19 brought the entire world into unfamiliar territory. It is inspiring to know that despite this global health emergency, the partnership between Japan and the Philippines remains to be solid and strong.”
