Oklahoma Indictment
On Friday, July 23, 2021, a grand jury indicted four more suspects in the kidnapping and death of an Osage Nation resident. This brings the number to eleven Joplin area residents charged related to the case. (Read more on this case here)
“The 11 defendants charged were allegedly involved in either the kidnapping and resulting death of Jolene Walker Campbell or with threatening witnesses and concealing evidence to cover up their crimes,” said Acting U.S. Attorney Clint Johnson.
Campbell’s body was found on July 15, 2020, in a remote field in Mayes County, Oklahoma within the boundaries of the Muscogee Nation. Authorities allege the kidnapping and resulting death happened between July 4 and 5, 2020.

NEWTON COUNTY, Mo. – A southwest Missouri family is building a new motocross complex.
Bo Johnson’s grandkids have been riding the track as it continues to form. They’re why he’s building the 4-State Moto Complex. It will be located between Neosho and Joplin, just south of Iris Road.
“Ultimately the reason I built it was for my grandkids: have a place to train, have a place to ride, have a place to have fun, and grow up as a kid outdoors. We’re not real big on the indoor life. We love it outdoors, we camp, we fish, we hunt, we raise cattle,” says Bo Johnson.

MCDONALD COUNTY, Mo. – Authorities arrest three family members for kidnapping a 13- and 9-year-old. The biological mother had lost parental rights and the kids were in the custody of the state of Texas. That’s according to the McDonald County Sheriff’s Office.
The Sheriff’s Office says on Tuesday, July 20, 2021, Texas investigators contacted Detective Wes Kissinger. Texas authorities were looking for the two kids, who were in the custody of the state. Authorities say the biological mom found out where they were staying in a foster home and abducted the kids. She fled Texas with them.
