The new channel 4 recruit shining a light on Bristolâs diverse talent
By Ellie Pipe, Thursday May 13, 2021
In the not-too-distant future, Stacey Olika would like there to be no need for a conversation about diversity because it will be so entrenched in creative industries.
The graphic designer, who has been newly appointed by Channel 4, is setting the wheels in motion to make that vision a reality.
âIâm just happy to be in this position and Iâm hoping we can shine a light on the amazing diversity we have in the region,â she tells Bristol24/7.

Channel 4 has expanded its Creative Diversity team, with the hire of Neila Butt as its new Creative Diversity Lead for the Nations & Regions in Leeds.
Stacey Olika will also join as Creative Diversity Coordinator, Nations & Regions in Bristol.
Reporting to Babita Bahal, Channel 4’s Head of Creative Diversity, they will work with independent producers, regional hub leads and commissioning teams within Channel 4 to increase representation of talent from underrepresented backgrounds on and off screen.
“Representing unheard voices is at the heart of our Future4 strategy as we continue to deliver increased representation and inclusion across the UK,” explained Bahal.
