Inspired by Captain Sir Tom Moore and Marcus Rashford, RAF veteran John Wilcock has got his skates on for the first time in seven decades. He s aiming to do 90 laps of the courtyard before turning 90. Initially he hoped to raise £500 for FareShare, a charity which aims to redistribute food to those in need and reduce waste, but has surpassed it by almost 70 times.

Shopkeeper fights off armed robbers by using their own shotgun against them

After Vijitha Jeyathevan heard a struggle on the shop floor, she rushed out to find her brother under attack by the two armed men. She told ITV News: I thought he was going to kill me, and he is pointing [the gun] at me, that time I thought I m losing everything, I m going to lose my life, everything is lost. I m so scared, I got the gun from him, I said lay down, otherwise I will snap on you.

The finding means water on the Moon may be more common and accessible than previously thought, but the discovery could have potential implications for future lunar missions. Researchers suggest in some cases tiny patches of ice might exist in permanent shadows no bigger than a penny. They explored phenomena on the Moon called cold traps, which are shadowy regions of the surface that exist in a state of eternal darkness. It is thought that many have gone without a single ray of sunlight for potentially billions of years.
