A local schoolboy has been spinning the decks and keeping locals entertained online with his radio show Gorey Radio during the current level 5 restrictions.
From song requests to giving out prizes from local business-owners, James Wilson (11) has been enjoying every minute of his show, which he broadcasts via Facebook Live every week night.
James has had a keen interest in radio broadcasting since he was about eight, and his favourite stations include South East Radio, Radio Castledermot, East Coast FM, Ocean FM, Highland Radio, Radio Nova and Christmas FM.
Even before he started his Tea Time Show in January, his proud parents knew that he d become a DJ sooner rather than later.
St Patrick s Special School in Enniscorthy will open its doors on February 19.
The brand new state-of-the-art facility was due to open earlier this year but, as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic and delays caused by the bespoke and intricate nature of the inner furnishings and design, the opening date was delayed.
Speaking to this newspaper, Principal Lee Rogers said the nature of the fittings and furnishings is such that it caused some delay to the project. A lot of the furniture and fittings are bespoke because of the nature of the school and that is the reason it has taken a bit longer than planned, said Mr Rogers.
