Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu yesterday said that the Federal Government had reservations about the resumption of schools yesterday, January 18, even as it was observed that there was partial compliance with COVID-19 protocols in many schools that reopened in many states.

As schools across the country resume for academic activities, most students, teachers and parents in Ondo State, on Monday, failed to comply with the COVID-19 protocols.,
Tribune Online noticed that most of the students returning to schools after weeks of the holiday which was commissioned by the second wave of the COVID -19 did not adhere to the directives of the government on COVID-19 guidelines.
In some of the schools visited, many of the pupils, as well as their teachers, did not bother to use their nose masks and those who were with nose masks hung it below their chin for formality, while the social distance rule was also flouted.

AS students resumed in Ondo state for the new academic session, the compliance to the COVID- 19 protocols was partially ignored.
The students flouted the COVID-19 guidelines as most of them did not use their nose masks while those who used hung it below their chin.
Parents as well as teachers also ignored the proper way of nose mask usage, in most of the schools visited in Akure, the state capital.
A visit to Oyemekun Grammar School, Akure, buckets of water, soap and sanitizers were provided at the school gate for those coming into the school, particularly the new entrants and their parents.

The Chairman, House Committee on Information, Hon. Aminu Zakari Tsubut confirmed the death to newsmen in Dutse.
The deceased died at the age of 57 after a prolonged illness suspected to be cancer and kidney failure.
Zakari, however, described the death of Babban Bare as a great loss not only to his family or assembly members but to the entire APC family and Jigawa State in general.
Hon. Babban Bare was elected a member representing Kafin-Hausa in the State House of Assembly in the 2019 general elections.
He was a former secretary of Kafin-Hausa Local Government.
He was buried in his hometown, Kafin-Hausa by 11 AM in line with Islamic rites.
