A teenager has been arrested after being found in possession of a knife.
The incident took place yesterday Sunday 16 May on Tayfen Road, in Bury St Edmunds after officers received intelligence suggesting he was carrying a knife.
Following a stop and search, officers arrested a 17 -year-old male teenager on suspicion of being in possession of a bladed item.
The teenager was taken to Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre and was subsequently charged with possession of a knife in a public place. He has been bailed to appear before Ipswich Magistrates’ Court on 29 June 2021.

A suspected drug dealer was arrested on his 18th birthday in Bury St Edmunds after allegedly being found in possession of class A drugs.
Officers patrolling in Tollgate Lane at around 6pm on Wednesday spotted a man acting suspiciously before fleeing from police on foot.
One male arrested for Possession with Intent to Supply Class A on #TollgateLane tonight. Male seen acting suspiciously before running from Police. A suspected teenage drug dealer has been arrested on his 18th birthday in Bury St Edmunds after allegedly being found in possession of class A drugs.
Officers patrolling in Tollgate Lane yesterday evening, 5th May, spotted a man acting suspiciously before fleeing from police on foot.
Writing on the St Edmundsbury Police official Twitter a spokesperson said “One male arrested for Possession with Intent to Supply Class A on Tollgate Lane tonight.
