New Delhi, Jan 27 (PTI) The Congress on Saturday said constructive seat-sharing talks are on between senior party leader Ashok Gehlot and Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, and it will inform when a formula is finalised.
Lucknow, Dec 10 (PTI) Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav on Sunday called for a caste census as he accused the Bharatiya Janata Party of tampering with the spirit of the Constitution by denying the people equality on the basis of their castes.
The BSP rained on the BJP’s parade in 17 constituencies in 2018, with 16 going to the Congress. Had the BJP won those 17 seats, it would have pulled ahead of its rival.
To justify its alliance, BSP camp also refers to SP's tie-up with Gondwana Gantantra Party in 2018 MP polls, saying it had led to SP 'garnering' tribal votes in 2022 UP elections
