The total number of affected people declined to 22.21 lakh in 28 districts on Sunday while the figure was 25.10 lakh on the previous day, according to a bulletin issued by the ASDMA.
According to latest updates by ASDMA, over 25 lakh people are still facing difficulties in 27 flood-hit districts of the state, comprising 79 revenue circles and 2,894 villages.
The flood situation worsened in Assam's Nagaon district due to heavy rainfall in the state. Over 41,000 people have been affected by the current wave of floods in Cachar alone.
