Five held for bid to lynch murder accused duo in Bhubaneswar | Bhubaneswar News

BHUBANESWAR: Five persons were on Sunday arrested for trying to lynch two brothers moments after the duo was detained by police for allegedly stabbing a man to death in a moving vehicle near VIP Colony in Nayapalli here on Saturday. An angry mob pulled out Sagar Prusty and his brother, Sudhir, from the police van at the crime spot and assaulted them in the presence of the cops. The accused were identified by the police as Prasant Das (48), Akhaya Kumar Das (39), Badal Kumar Kanhar (20), Srikanta Das (28) and Prakash Naik (24), all residents of rental colony in Nayapalli. They were passing by the scene of crime when the murder took place and took law into their hands. More arrests are likely to be made as the police are on the lookout for others, who were also part of the lynch mob.
