The 4SRanch-Del Sur Community Foundation awarded $25,000 in grants to three local nonprofit COVID-19 relief programs to help youths in 4S Ranch and Del Sur. The grants range from $5,000 to $15,000 and fund programs such as literacy tutoring, mentoring and music classes.
The 4SRanch-Del Sur Community Foundation, an affiliate of The San Diego Foundation, has distributed over $320,000 to more than 35 area nonprofits, since it was established in 2008.
Recipients of this year’s grants include Big Brothers Big Sisters, which received $5,000 for mentoring programs that help at-risk youths during COVID-19 by expanding support for online mentoring sessions with adult mentors.
The Del Norte High School Music Boosters received a $5,000 grant to help Del Norte High School safely resume in-person music education classes. Funds are earmarked for buying specialized face masks with face slits and MERV 13 bell covers for wind instruments.
