Timeshare company Bluegreen Vacation said Tuesday that it inked a confidential settlement with certain timeshare exit companies that resolves claims that the companies are falsely advertising their services to help release consumers from their binding timeshare contracts in a "timeshare exit scheme."
BELLEVILLE A retired Edwardsville couple claims Consumer Law Protection Lawyers and others fraudulently sold them services to get them out of their timeshare contract.
Ronald D. Kohlmiller and Theresa Kohmiller filed a complaint (and part 2) May 13 in the St. Clair County Circuit Court against Consumer Law Protection LLC, Resort Transfer Group LLC, doing business as Consumer Law Protection Lawyers, Square One Development Group Inc., Premier Reservation Group LLC, Island Hospitality Group LLC and others, alleging violation of the Illinois Consumer Fraud Act.
The Kohlomillers allege in their complaint that they were subject to a high-pressure sales presentation from the defendants on Aug. 5, 2020, regarding timeshare termination. Eugene Smith and Linda Smith filed a complaint April 8 in the Twentieth Judicial Circuit for St. Clair County against Consumer Law Protection LLC, Resort Transfer Group LLC, Square One Development Group Inc., Cloud 9 Hospitality LLC doing business as Four Points by Sheraton, and Matt Titus, Courtney Kirkpatrick, Dan Chudy, Scott Jackson and George and LouAnn Reed alleging violation of the Illinois Consumer Fraud Act.
According to the Smiths complaint, they were invited to a banquet at the Four Points on March 4, 2021, by the defendants to learn about canceling their timeshare contract with Club Wyndham, Sheraton Vistana and Dikhololo Resorts which they held with their daughters.
