EDMONTON A south Edmonton brewery is using its cans for more than just holding beer. Town Square Brewing Co. beer cans feature colourful artwork that are commissioned from a staff member. Patricia Taylor started as a server at the brewery after moving to Alberta in 2017, and when her boss found out she was a skilled artist he asked her if she was interested in designing cans. Every beer is different, why wouldn t we do the same with the labels, said owner Brandon Boutin. Taylor says she s designed about 15 cans so far, and she is always open for more commission work.

Curtain Up is a collaboration by craft brewers in Upstate New York and elsewhere to benefit actors and others in the entertainment industry affected by the Covid-19 pendemic.

Among the many industries that have struggled during the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic are live entertainment and craft brewing.
Now craft brewers nationally, and here in Upstate New York, are gearing up to help struggling musicians, actors and others in the entertainment industry.
The national effort, called Curtain Up / Save the Arts, brings together at least 50 breweries from across the country to make individual versions of a special beer, with proceeds benefitting organization like The Actors Fund and others that provide to workers in the entertainment industry. It’s coordinated by The Happy Hour Guys, two actors who like to promote craft beverages.
