The Portland Trail Blazers had no answer for the hot shooting of the San Antonio Spurs in the fourth quarter on Monday as the Spurs pulled away for a 125-104 victory at the Moda Center.
Rudy Gay scored 14 of his 21 points in the final period to spark the Spurs (8-6), who opened the fourth quarter on a 21-9 run and went on to outscore the Blazers 38-22 in the quarter.
Damian Lillard finished with 35 points and six assists for the Blazers (8-6), who were without both Jusuf Nurkic (broken wrist) and CJ McCollum (sprained foot). Rodney Hood added 21 points in his first start of the season, while Carmelo Anthony scored 14 points off the bench.
