Road America Partners with Local Short Track in Plymouth for Winged Sprint Car Event

May 5, 2021 | 10:30 AMLocal Sports Road America has announced a unique partnership with the Plymouth Dirt Track adding a special Thursday night winged sprint car doubleheader just prior to the NASCAR race. On Thursday, July 1 st, the regional Bumper To Bumper IRA Outlaw Sprint Series will headline an all sprint car show on the 1/3 mile Plymouth Dirt Track located at Sheboygan County Fair Park, just five miles from Road America. The event will feature some of the best sprint car teams in the Midwest and NASCAR Cup Series starts, and will take place just days before the NASCAR Cup Road America 250 presented by Kwik Trip.

New ORCV offshore series working a treat for father and son duo

Experienced yachtsman David Lynch and his son Andrew, newly initiated into the joys of ocean racing, have successfully sailed their Northshore 369 Pegasus into the lead of the of the West Offshore Products Coastal Sprint Series, hosted by the Ocean Racing Club of Victoria (ORCV). The pair, who finished Race 3 in second place to Justin Brenan s Alien on the weekend, are co-owners of Pegasus. And while the duo has raced together one way or another for 40 years, Andrew is new to offshore racing, launching into it via the ORCV s new Category 3 series. We ve had two boats. We co-owned an 11 Metre One-Design, Blue Tack, and now we have Pegasus. We ve been racing it together for two years, but this is our first offshore series with it, Andrew says. Dad was the teacher and me the pupil. It s a good father and son team. We have a good partnership and share the helm.

J/70 fleet © Louay Habib / J/70 UK Class The J/70 UK Class is looking forward to an exciting season of racing for 2021. Following the UK Government announcement of the roadmap to cautiously ease lockdown restrictions in England and following guidance from the RYA. The J/70 UK Class will have some coronavirus protocols in place, and we are planning a full season of racing from April through to October. The 2021 J/70 UK Grand Slam Series will feature seven events with the best four to count, the J/70 UK Nationals will be a non-discard event and Grand Slam winners will be in both the Corinthian and Open Classes. Seven clubs will be hosting the J/70 UK Class: Warsash SC, Royal Thames YC, Royal Southern YC, Parkstone YC, Cowes CC, Royal Yacht Squadron, and the Hamble River SC.
