There are people who live in the physical ozarks who would not identify themselves as an ozarker and there are people who live outside the physical ozarks who would. The trilogy i am working on is called a history of the ozarks. It is published by the university of illinois press. The first volume comes out this year. It is called the old ozarks and it is a history of the ozarks before the civil war. There is a brief chapter on prehistory. Im not a anthropologist so that is why it is brief.
