The Pretoria Magistrate s Court found Springvale Primary School teacher Annelise Boot, 54, guilty of assault on Wednesday, according to the Pretoria News. Boot reportedly assaulted the pupil by choking, kicking and pushing her knee onto his chest while pulling his arms upwards. The assault of the 12-year-old reportedly took place in February 2020 over the alleged theft of a bottle of sparkling water, reported Times Live, after another teacher called Boot to resolve the matter.

Annelise Boot, 54, from Springvale Primary School appeared in the Pretoria magistrate’s court in connection with the incident in February 2020. The court accepted the case presented by the state, found the teacher had acted violently towards the pupil and was guilty of common assault. Annelise Boot, 54, appeared in the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court for the charges of assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm she faces following the incident which took place on February 21 2020. According to the state Boot intentionally assaulted the learner by throttling, kicking and pressing him on the chest with her knee whilst pulling his arms upwards.
