Fort Leonard Wood platoon leader enjoys being part of a great team Brian Hill FORT LEONARD WOOD Being part of a team means being part of something bigger than oneself. For 1st Lt. Zyekeela Crittington, a platoon leader with the 509th Clearance Company and member of the All-Army Women’s Rugby team, representing the Army as an officer and rugby player each provide the chance to help others reach their potential, “so we can be great as a whole.” “I joined the Army because I wanted a challenge and to test my potential; I wanted to become a good Army leader so that people could be encouraged to be the best that they can be,” she said. “In rugby, everyone has the responsibility to tackle; everyone has to pass the ball; and everyone has to give their all in order to get the job done. It’s the most selfless sport I’ve ever been a part of.”

Credit Sam Howzit / Flickr Three to six-year-olds are invited to the Little Acorns program, Let’s Go Camping, Friday morning (5/21) at 10 and 11:15 in the outdoor classroom at the Springfield Conservation Nature Center.  Registration is required.   The Christian County Library will host a virtual Family Storytime at 10 Friday morning (5/21) on the library’s Facebook page and on YouTube. It’s recommended for families with toddlers through age five.   Springfield Little Theatre’s production of “Nunsense” continues this weekend at the Lander’s Theatre, 311 E. Walnut St.  Tickets are available for both online and in person options.   The History Museum on the Square will host the Great Cobra Breakout Game Friday night (5/21) from 6 to 8 online.  The online puzzle is based on an event that happened in Springfield in 1953 when cobras were accidentally released from a local pet shop truck.  Tickets and registration are required.
