After some end-of-year formalities the Liberty County Commission, on Dec. 17, voted to approve a package of solid waste measures including annual rate hikes of six percent.
The increases will total from $2.86 to $9.84 for residential users in unincorporated Liberty County and the municipalities of Midway, Riceboro, Gumbranch and Allenhurst. Hinesville, Walthourville, Flemington and a small area in Riceboro have separate agreements with the solid waste authority and their fees differ.
