Picture: ANISH CHAND A family of seven got out in the nick of time as a massive landslide came crashing on to their home in Korotale, Rakiraki, at the height of Tropical Cyclone Ana. Munesh Gounder said his family was lucky to be alive. He lived in the house with his wife, four children and elderly mother. “I was awake at the time and heard a crashing sound, thinking the mango tree outside had fallen down,” he said. “Suddenly the house started shifting and I yelled to alert all the family members who came out of their rooms and we managed to jump out.”

Picture: SUPPLIED Youths of Nukusere Village in Macuata have been urged by Youth and Sports Minister Parveen Kumar to come forward with their issues. Mr Kumar shared this sentiment while handing over farm equipment to the youths of Nukusere Village under the ministry’s National Youth Farm Initiative. “I want you people to speak up. I am here to have a talanoa session with all the youths and hear all your issues directly,” he said. Mr Kumar said the ministry would not hesitate to further assist the youths of the community, however, the youths have to put in their 100 per cent.
