Men s college basketball has missed out on one of the crown jewels of the 2022 recruiting class.
Scoot Henderson will turn pro as a member of the NBA G League Ignite, Shams Charania of Stadium and The Athletic reported on Friday.
The 17-year-old Henderson is believed to be the youngest-ever American professional basketball player, per Charania, who also wrote that the guard is signing for $1 million.
Per Travis Branham of 247Sports, Henderson has reclassified to the 2021 class with the decision. He also declined an offer to sign with the Overtime Elite program.
Henderson, who checks in at 6 3 and 180 pounds, was a 5-star prospect and the No. 13 overall player, No. 2 point guard and No. 1 player from the state of Georgia in the 2022 class, per 247Sports composite rankings.

Wide receiver registration came and went at the Elite Underclassmen Camp in Orlando this past Sunday with West Orange (Fla.) wide receiver
Jayden Gibson nowhere to be found. He was on the roster for the event, which was hosted at his high school s stadium, but hadn t come through the gates by the time the final position groups took the field.
Gibson rushed home that morning from a track tournament in Jacksonville, and was able to make it to camp just in time to participate in athletic drills and face defensive backs in one-on-ones. Gibson was identifiable the moment he took the field, as his 6-foot-6 frame stood out among the wide receivers at the event.

The rising sophomore cornerback held his own in man coverage against bigger receivers and could have been mistaken for an upperclassman given his athleticism, length, and comfort on the field. Jackson s speed-turn in reaction to stutters and double-moves was incredibly smooth and allowed him to recover with ease moving down the sideline, hip-to-hip with his receiver.

Alongside Florida in Booker s top five are the Georgia Bulldogs, Alabama Crimson Tide, Ohio State Buckeyes, and Oregon Ducks.
Booker has been a priority Gators target in the class of 2022 for some time, and will be making his first official trip to UF s campus from June 4-6. Before the recruiting moratorium was put in place amid the coronavirus pandemic in March 2020, Booker visited UF for the program s junior day event. There, he guaranteed that Florida would make his top five schools, and
