The Milwaukee Bucks are trying to add Elijah Bryant for their active roster as the team is working to negotiate the 6-foot-5-inch guard’s exit from the Maccabi Tel Aviv Basketball Club. The Bucks regular season ends on May 16.
The Journal Sentinel confirmed the intent to sign Bryant, which was first reported on May 5 by Sport 5 television in Israel and Sportando.
The Athletic added to that reporting Saturday by noting that Rodions Kurucs is the player the team would waive to make room on the active roster for Bryant.
Bryant, 26, was a member of the Bucks’ 2019 summer league team and in 2020 the team reportedly tried to bring him stateside, but he turned them down to remain with Maccabi Tel Aviv.

Elijah Bryant may be headed back to the United States.
The former BYU basketball star is reportedly expected to leave his current team, Maccabi Tel Aviv of the Israeli League, to join the NBA’s Milwaukee Bucks, as first reported by Sportando’s Emiliano Carchia and Sport5’s Roi Cohen.
