An unemployed man has 12 weeks to pay the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court a $350 fine.
If Kemal Akeem Yarde, of Rock Gap, Spooners Hill, St Michael, fails to pay up, he will spend three months in prison.
Chief Magistrate Ian Weekes imposed the fine after he heard the details of charges of cannabis possession, possession with intent to supply and trafficking, brought against Yarde.
A search warrant was executed at Yarde’s residence on
Boxing Day, December 26, and herb weighing 220 grammes was found in a haversack.
Yarde took responsibility for the drugs first when police asked him to account and then again before the magistrate.

A 22-YEAR-OLD man gunned down on Wednesday night may not have been the intended target.
This is according to some residents of Headley Land, Bank Hall, St Michael, after Tarik Straker, of Long Gap, Spooners Hill, also in St Michael, was shot and killed.
His homicide was the 39th for the year.
Police reported that around 7:20 p.m. they responded after an anonymous caller told them about loud explosions heard in the area.
When they arrived, they saw Straker lying on a small pasture in Headley Land.
Yesterday, most residents were tight-lipped about the incident while others said they did not know the young man, because he did not live in the area.

Lawmen have identified the man who was fatally shot at Headley Land, Bank Hall, St Michael last night.
He is 22-year-old Tariq Straker of Long Gap, Spooners Hill, St Michael.
According to police, they received reports that several loud explosions were heard in the area around 7:20 p.m.
On arrival, they discovered Straker’s body in an open pasture with multiple gunshot wounds.
Police are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact Police emergency at 211, Crime Stoppers at 1-800-8477, the District “A” Police Station at 430-7242 or any police station.

A man who was shot and killed on Wednesday has been identified as Tarik Straker, 22, of Long Gap, Spooners Hill, St Michael.
Police are continuing investigations into the unnatural death of Straker, who was killed after 7 o’clock at Headley Land, Bank Hall, St Michael.
