The Killeen City Council voted Tuesday to bring back for discussion the allocation of $4 million for short-term street repairs.
Half of the money would come from Capital Improvement Project funding; the other half from the street maintenance fund.
The vote was 6 to 1, with Councilwoman Shirley Fleming voting against, saying she didnât believe the funding would be sufficient.
Following a motion by Councilwoman Debbie Nash-King to bring back for discussion moving $2 million of Capital Improvement Funds for winter storm-related street repair, the audio connection with remote participants was lost for the second time at Tuesdayâs council workshop.
Councilmembers Terry Clark and Fleming were taking part in the workshop by remote teleconference.

KILLEEN
As of 5 p.m. Monday, Stage 5 water restrictions for the city of Killeen had been lifted, but a boil water notice remains in effect for all properties located in Killeen.
âThe City had been in Stage 5 restrictions since February 17 because of extremely low water levels across the system,â City Spokeswoman Hilary Shine said in a press release late Monday. âWater levels have stabilized, and all normal indoor and outdoor uses are permitted.â
All water should be boiled prior to consumption under the boil water notice which is still in effect.
âFood and water was distributed this morning at 10 a.m. and supply exhausted at 11 a.m.,â Shine said in an email. âIt was at Killeen Community Center. Weâve exhausted the limited supply of provisions. If more are received, we will announce distribution.â
With water service still uncertain for many Killeen residents, volunteers both local and from out of state were on hand Sunday to help those who needed water and other items.
