Local health director warns of rising COVID cases locally
COVID-19 cases in Jackson and Madison County are on the rise again.
Weekly e-mails updating the latest virus numbers in Madison County jumped from 22 new cases for the week on July 14 to 77 this past Wednesday.
Jackson-Madison County General Hospital’s COVID-19 case count went from five total people in the hospital for the virus on July 12 to 19 on July 21.
It’s enough of an increase to classify as a spike, and it’s enough of a spike to warrant discussions inside the Jackson-Madison County Health Department about possibly increasing the frequency of their e-mail updates.
