He maintained that the community pantries are “beautiful and selfless” initiatives aimed at helping people in need, and should not be politicized by critics.
The community pantries have recently symbolized the emergence of a kindness phenomenon across the country as the nation reels from the devastating economic impact of the coronavirus pandemic.
The fast-spreading movement started with a small wooden cart in a village in Quezon City where anyone can donate and get food based on their needs. Inspired by the Maginhawa food cart, more community pantries have sprouted up all over the country.

Panelo informed Robredo that the arrival of the initial batch of doses of vaccines from Pfizer has been hampered by issues related to indemnification requirements. A bill seeking to establish an indemnification fund for people who suffer bad side effects after getting the COVID vaccines is already pending in Congress, he said.
The vice president earlier expressed concern about the delay in the country’s vaccination program, saying that even Bangladesh has began its inoculations ahead of the Philippines.

Chief Presidential Legal Counsel Salvador Panelo told the camp of flight attendant Christine Dacera to stop seeking justice and insisting that there was foul play behind her death, saying there was no crime that happened to begin with and too many people from both sides got hurt already.

Panelo made the statement after the family of Dacera, who died after a New Year’s party in a hotel in Makati early this year, contested the latest report of the Philippine National Police saying the flight attendant died due to natural causes.
In the January 29, 2021 episodes of his show “Counterpoint”, he asked the Dacera family and their lawyer and spokesman Brick Reyes about the justice that they are seeking. He also advised Reyes to do his job properly.
