Early this year, Joe traveled from Spokane, Wash., to reestablish his residency in Leicester, Vt., to attend a Criminology & Restorative Justice program at Northern Vermont University. Friends, family, and acquaintances share a deep loss of this wonderful individual who lived life fully, gave freely and, accomplished so much in the time he spent on this planet. We remain inspired by Joe’s artistic unconventionality and contagious enthusiasm.

After pressure from downtown businesses, a professional soccer league and many community members, the Spokane Public Schools Board voted to build an outdoor stadium downtown.
School Board President Jerrall Haynes said he hoped the downtown plan would bolster art, the district’s equity goals and give sports, and band programs a place to play.
“I genuinely believe that when all is said and done, that this decision is a step in the right direction to bring Spokane to a better place, but especially Spokane Public Schools, and allows us to create new and innovative ways to support our students and families that are on the margins of society far too often.”
The United Soccer League has given a firm commitment to bring a pro team to Spokane if the stadium is built downtown. More than three years since the idea was born, the Spokane Public Schools board of directors has agreed in a 4-1 vote to move ahead with building the district s new high school sports stadium downtown. I genuinely believe that when all is said and done, that this decision is a step in the right direction to bring Spokane to a better place, says Jerral Haynes, school board president. Construction on the stadium, to be located near the Spokane Arena, is expected to begin next spring with a completion date possible by fall 2022, according to information presented by the school district staff Wednesday night.
