Los investigadores del prestigioso Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) señalaron que los ventiladores MASI son los únicos de su tipo usados clínicamente en el mundo e invitaron a sus pares peruanos, Dr. Benjamín Castañeda y Mag. Jaime Reátegui de la Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (PUCP), para intercambiar conocimientos sobre el desarrollo de ventiladores mecánicos y su uso en pacientes. El motivo de la invitación es que, al ser pioneros del uso de un resucitador como parte de un ventilador, el equipo del MIT tuvo contacto con diversas iniciativas alrededor del mundo que buscaban hacer desarrollos similares durante la pandemia del Covid-19.
