Stutsman County Commission declines additional COVID-19 leave

Written By: Keith Norman | × The Stutsman County Commission declined to extend a program that included additional sick leave and family leave for employees for coronavirus-related issues. The program was mandatory as part of the CARES Act that expired at the end of 2020. Businesses and governments had the option to extend it into 2021 for their employees. The city of Jamestown approved extending the program Monday. The Stutsman County Commission was told that the state of North Dakota had not extended the program. Personnel policies for the employees of the Social Services Department, now known as Buffalo Bridges Human Services Zone, are set by the state of North Dakota. The commission declined to have different leave packages for social services employees compared to other county employees, said Mark Klose, chairman of the commission.
