The Indulgence Calendar
Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.
Matthew 7:7
This is the post I had planned to go up at datechguyblog.com on Monday before everything crashed and burned. I put it up on the backup site “datechguyblog.wordpress.com” but now that I’m back up it’s here
Today I’m launching a Catholic Devotional aid that I mentioned a few days ago on the site called The Indulgence Calendar. Many people going to Mass weekly and even many who go daily are aware that these indulgences are available and quite a few might already be doing prayers and devotions that carry an indulgences but because they are not declaring their desire and/or intention to earn these indulgences they are not obtained.

âHe is risen!â Three little words on the lips of millions throughout the world today, even while sorrowfully restrained from celebrating the Resurrection of their Lord and Saviour in church for the second year in a row.
Governments can shut down churches but can NEVER stop the words, âHe is Risen! on Easter Morning 2021âor on any other.
By shutting down houses of worship and restricting their attendance to low percentage levels, arrogant governments thought they could kill off prayerâan utter impossibility.

Even in the midst of their ongoing âcancel cultureâ, they would have as much hope in killing off prayer as they have in getting folk to buy this yearâs White House Easter eggs depicting âEaster Bunniesâ wearing masks.
Although there are advantages to online Masses, such as availability of worship at any time, plus the choice of a homilist, there is the hole at Communion time. (CNS/The Register/Karen Bonar)
Although online Masses became and remain for many a blessing during these months of closed churches, the biggest loss for me has been the inability to receive Communion. From the day of my first Communion 70 years ago, I have had a desire to receive the Eucharist as often as possible.
I grew up in a small coal mining town; our nearest Catholic church was two towns away, but we attended Mass every Sunday. I didn t think about it much as a child, but most adults in the 1950s in our little church did not receive Communion every Sunday.
