damage and how bad it is. the cement slab behind me is the main spillway. the week before last, crews realized there was a small hole in it so they closed out the spillway and decided to use in a second. this big crater here, all of that water is supposed to be showing down. it s got the vehicle. you ve got that big problem. let me explain to you what the emergency spillway is. they close off the main spillway to release some of the water. they started to use the emergency spillway just over to my left for the first time ever in the history of the game. when the water started to hit the emergency spillway, they realized the emotion that already occurred. it started to fall away very quickly, to the point where they decided to evacuate 188,000 people in the towns below because the water was pushing so fast, the erosion is happening

130,000 customers without power thanks to this storm system. but what i want you to take out of this is there is yet another storm system waiting in its wings. we ll get a brief break for the day on sunday. but then we start to line things up across the pacific. . that is when things start to get active into the early parts of next week. we ll bring in more heavy rainfall and the potential for more flooding. we also have been talking about all week long the dam or the spillway that was threatened because of the recent rainfalls. it is going to be tested once again with this storm system. we get the break and then tested yet again as e we head into the early parts of next week. . construction there to try to reduce the amount of damage to this particular dam that we have already seen. so here s the storm systems lining up. this is called our atmospheric river of moisture. that s producing our significant amounts of rainfall. still a couple inches to come
situation very, very closely. the more than 180,000 people who were evacuated sunday were allowed to head back to their homes tuesday, but some still remain in the evacuation center out of fear the order will come down to leave their homes again. others went back to check on their properties and prep for a possible new round of instructions to leave and in a hurry and even though they have released enough water out of the spillways to lower the lake level, there s a tremendous amount of preparation being done ahead of a coming storm later this weekend and into next week. crews continue to drop rocks by helicopter into the hole in the wall and clean up debris. we re continuing to monitor our incoming weather, our conditions of our spillway, the conditions of the diversion pool, the water level up against the power plant and we indicated that we would reduce flows from 100 to 80,000 csf
